OpenWood: furniture for those who create value
Realizing an innovative project it’s not easy and it has never been.
Innovative means to be against those rules and habits that too often make people distrustful.
One night, going home from work, I was wondering: why should people use our product (an object never seen before)? And, who are these people?
Once at home, I opened my computer and browse the web.
I found out that people attracted by innovative and “out of the ordinary” products are simply, people who see a great opportunity in every change.
OpenWood.co is a project born from a collaboration among french artisans and designers who locally produce design furniture for innovative companies.
The furniture realized is eco-designed: the wood comes from renewable forests and the finishings of the furniture are created thanks to eco-sustainable products.
New technologies have changed our way of working and even the office concept its own. That’s why creating furniture as an essential part of the Company value is innovative and provides a solution in terms of viability of the environment.
The range of products offered is definitely wide.
Meeting tables, chairs, standing desks, cabinets, bookcases and fully equipped workplaces, to work at best and in the smartest way.
This type of furniture is thought for Companies which show a modern approach to work: start-ups, coworking spaces, or places where flexibility is not just a feature but a real need.
“We believe that every piece of furniture we produce brings value and the commitment to produce it, is a form of respect for the person who uses it.” – Thomas Pesin, Owner
Why is OpenWood.co different?
What distinguishes OpenWood.co is the furniture production process, innovative by respect to the most common ones: a delocalized creation of finished products that reduces logistics costs and environmental impact.
Moreover, the positive implications on the local economy bring to the creation of a producers network able to guarantee a direct and trusted contact with the territory.
Let’s try to better understand how this model of production process works: several players are involved in each step of the creation.
Each € 100 spent on OpenWood.co website:
– € 10 allocated to the Designer
– € 5 for services of payment and delivery
– € 5 for the development of the website promotion
– € 10 for the cooperative’s management expenses
– € 70 allocated to the craftsman
“The project is built into a sharing logic and economic co-operation, and value is directly redistributed to all those who are participating in it. Being digital allows us to keep our competitive advantage as a craftsman and perform quality work locally. and the automation of our activities allows us to limit the decline in revenues related to the competitive environment to which we are exposed. “- Thomas Pesin, Owner
